EUWTH TAKE BRISBANE
WE LOVE BRISBANE AKA BRISVEGAS AKA LAND OF GIRLFRIENDS PUNCHING ABOVE THEIR WEIGHT AKA THE PLACE WHERE EVERYONE IS SO DAMN NICE AND CHILL <3
Once we touched down in Brisvegas we headed straight to The Treasury, our home for the next 2 nights (although after staying there we wished it was our home 5evr)!
The Treasury is split into 2 buildings. The Casino and the Hotel. Our suite was seriously on fleek it was so breathtaking that we even made a Hotel Cribs video on our suite (which you can watch below). When we put our things down we knew exactly where we wanted to go first- DOUGHNUT TIME because to us, it is always TIME for doughnuts!!!
Doughnut time is the BOMB. THAT IS ALL. Must try doughnuts, which we are actually lucky enough to have in Sydney now! What can we say, food follows us everywhere LOL. 'Love At First Bite' is our MUST order doughnut. A Nutella filled doughnut with literally a whole jar of Nutella inside. It really was love at first bite because we went back the next day to grab more!
After surprising our parents (it was their anniversary) in Brisbane (where they were also staying) we all headed over to our next food destination... SAKE.
Sake is a really beautiful Japanese restaurant that make special occasions extra special! They have restaurants in Melbourne and Sydney which we have already visited but the Brisbane restaurant is quite gorgeous. We pretty much ordered the whole menu but the stand out would have to be the awesome dessert board we ordered (which is pictured below) and our all time fave, the s express roll! They sure know how to spoil their customers.
Parting ways with our parents, we went back to the suite to sleep off our food coma and get ready for a night on the town. Fortitude Valley is where we were told it all happens. We stopped on Ann St and walked up and down for a while trying to really grasp the feel of the night. We decided that we needed to grab a bite to eat just because it was only like 9pm and we didn't feel like the clubs were jumping or anything so we made a stop at BEN'S BURGERS.
Ben's Burgers was awesome because were super lazy and walking far really pisses us off so it was super lucky that this was just off Ann St and another place we got to tick off our food list. The burgers are the most perfect looking burgers. Shout out to the fries and shake for being so on point as well.
After we had our mini feed it was time to get our drank on. We once again walked up and down the street and then just decided to head over to Gerard's Bar.
This place is cool. Like way cool. If we had to describe it in one word it would have to be FABULOUSITY. The drinks were fab, the decor is fab and everyone there is fab (and pretty hot) and the margarita was one of the best we have ever had! (please don't kill us for not taking photos of our drinks here! you need to add us on snapchat- euwth for all our drink photos!)
After a few rounds, we ordered an Uber and were on our way to ALFREDO'S.
This place is where everyone should be when they're super TURNT UP and wanting a late night feed/drank, with some seriously great tunes. The pizza is great, the drinks are great but seriously the music was outstanding. A+ for the insane tunes and massive shoutout to pizza by the slice. Nothing we love more than grabbing a few slices and trying everything without having to order every single full sized pizza.
By this time as you can imagine, it was hard to move because we had over consumed several types of foods. It was time to seriously get our dance on and get some shots all up in us. So we walked next door to Alfred & Constance (which was even more perfect for only being 10 steps away.) PS. the other next door is ANOTHER doughnut time and (hit the) KWAN BROTHERS.
The vibes in this place are beyond. We walk downstairs to a deserted bar where the music is even more outstanding and grabbed a few shots in our attempt to turn up. It didn't work. At least dancing alone with no one around made us feel good enough to walk all the way upstairs, where we realise that THIS is where the party is really at! The bar upstairs was super packed, everyone was dressed up (I forgot to mention that this was Halloween eve) and there were a few familiar faces around, people from Masterchef were there but it was cool cause we didn't fangirl. Although we kind of did fangirl George Calombaris, cause lets face it, Gazi is one of our fave restaurants and he's friends with our fav Melbourne Victory player Kosta B, so we had to say heyyyyyyyy!
Moving on, we decided to retire for the night and head back to our suite AKA heaven on earth <3 and decide to order some room service. We ordered some fruit, a cheese plate, ceasar salad and some amazing thick chips which we super crunchy and it was all top notch!! Definitely hit the spot after a night out. The pic below says it all. So much separation anxiety RN. *cries*
OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG. This is how we feel about Chester Street Bakery. From the cakes to the shakes to the breakfast OMG. EVERYTHING ON FLEEEEKKKK. Can something be too on fleek? YES AND IT IS CALLED CHESTER STREET BAKERY. arkjhajrhehe. I JUST CANT EVEN. If you visit Brisvegas and DO NOT go here, there is something seriously wrong. Everyone needs to visit this place at least once in their lives! (unless you have quit sugar, then probs don't visit) There are no standouts here because EVERYTHING IS PERFECTION *CRYINGWAYTOOMUCHRIGHTNOW*
So after we experience the best breakfast of our lives we head back into Melbourne CBD in an attempt to find The Doughnut Bar. We sure didn't complain about walking now cause this breakfast food coma was WAY next level.
GAYTIME. MILK. BUN. That is all. Ok so this place sells AMAZING doughnuts and shakes but this Gaytime filled milky bun really is the star of the show. It is light and delicious, the bun is warm and it works so well with the soft ice cream inside ahhh it is just beyond divine! Pair it with the Gaytime shake and your life will been made!
This was another place on our food list that fit perfectly into our food schedule because at this point in time we needed a quick detox. The Acai bowls here are wonderful. Only one of us is a die hard acai lover and we all really enjoyed this bowl! We ordered the OG with a side of Coyo. Once again Sydney, why do we not have one of these stores? I would happily eat this bowl numerous times a day!
We are pretty confident that this high tea is definitely one of the best, if not thee best in Australia. We are obsessed with the champagne, tea and perfect sandwiches and sweets served. They are all made in house and were absolutely beyond delicious. We go have easily stayed there the whole day! This high tea is a MUST if you are in Brisbane!
From the decor to the music, it will leave a long lasting impression, and that's before you even try the food. They only serve ONE dish- steak frites, it is their specialty dish, along with a wide variety of dessert. Once you try this dish you will understand why they don't even need to bother selling anything else. You receive a simple salad to start and then the steak comes out which it is absolutely fab and the bottomless fries are super crispy and fresh. Also our waitress was one of the NICEST people ever omgggg I think all the nice people live in Brisbane!!!!
MASSIVE SHOUTOUT TO THE KITTY, the only place in Brisvegas where we actually got turnt. Firstly your cocktails are super amazing, the gin, cucumber, mint and lime juice cocktail is hands down one of the best ones we have ever had which is why we ordered like 7 rounds of them! We spent most of the night here and by the time we got up and struggled to see straight we knew exactly what we needed! A MAGIC ICE CREAM SUNDAE FROM KITCHEN AT TREASURY.
The sundaes here confirm that Brisvegas is where we should be living. As it was Halloween the flavour was pumpkin pie. I swear on my life this Sundae is better than ANY pumpkin pie I have EVER had or any ice cream sundae I have EVER had. It should be permanently on the menu because the ice cream they make IN HOUSE was incredible. We were feeling pretty great after our sundae but we knew that the trip wouldn't be complete without a stop to our one and only... FAT NOODLE!!! OR as we like to call it, PHAT NOODLE!
PHAT noodle was freaking great, as per usual! Luke Nguyen you freaking genius, we love you and we love your food! This was definitely proof that we need to move to Brisvegas because we couldn't move anywhere that didn't have a phat noodle- BONUS!
This brings us to the end of our Brisbane food adventure. We literally went back to the suite, passed out, woke up, went to the airport, came back to Sydney and went straight to YOUENI in Castle Hill because we desperately needed a detox meal. We detoxed for about 1 day but it was worth it. Brisvegas you are underrated, we love you so much! We love your perfect weather and your friendly civilians. We love your awesome bars and restaurants. We love your Uber drivers. We love BRISBANE!
